    Strikewater volume?

Hey thanks so much man. You’ve been really helpful.

    Strikewater volume?

I had another question for you. I am planning to do this method for my next brew. I’m trying to set up BrewFather to calculate my water volumes and temps. I plan to squeeze the bag after both mash and sparge. Should I do standard absorption rate for mash (.125gal/lb) and 0 absorption for sparge...

Amarillo Hops - crop year quality

I used a lot of them on a beer I made in February, but it was the first time I have ever used them so I’m not much help other than to say I had no complaints with flavor or aroma.

What I did for beer today

Snagged a sweet deal today. $200 for all this. 5 kegs, 20lb co2 half full, regulator, 4 post manifold, and unopened bags of more hose clamps and keg connectors than I’ll ever need. Kegs need some TLC and I was only wanting to add 2-3 kegs to my collection but couldn’t pass it up.

Question about new White Labs “Next Generation” yeast packets.

What about the fact that it is double the price of the old pack? It’s nice to be lazy but a starter doesn’t cost me $8 bucks to make. My LHBS (which was still only charging $7.99-$8.99) dropped White Labs completely about a month ago. The owner said no way any of his customers were gonna pay...

    Amarillo + Citra + Simcoe = GROSS

I made a pale ale with Simcoe and Amarillo a couple months ago. Used in both the boil and dry hop as well as some Centennial and Columbus. One of the best beers I’ve made.

    Strikewater volume?

Ok thank you. I’ll give that a try on my next brew. Been hitting my numbers but would like to bump up the efficiency some.

    Strikewater volume?

I know this was for someone else but wanted your knowledge for my setup And ratio I should use. I do a hybrid BIAB in a cooler method. For a sparge I just lift the bag with a hoist and poor 170F over it with a pitcher. Fly sparge adjacent I guess. I’ve played with it some but haven’t settled...

    Homebrew Talk 3D Print Thread.

I was copying @Muddbug idea for Carbonation Caps on bucket lids for fermentation purging kegs and closed transfer but didn’t want to mess with cutting up bottles. Made this real quick along with some laser cut rubber washers. I don’t post my files ever but happy to share it with anyone that wants.

    Keg purging with active fermentation

Oh good point. I’ll do that now.

    Keg purging with active fermentation

Got my Carb Caps in and my threaded adapter printed. My hardware store didn’t have the correct size rubber washer but did have rubber washer making sheets. Well in addition to 3D printing I play with lasers so made me some rubber washers with the laser cutter. Worked perfectly. Super excited to...

Is that the default 4% for heat expansion on preboil?

    Keg purging with active fermentation

Man that’s brilliant. I’m definitely doing that. Such a better use of otherwise wasted CO2. Thanks. And yeah that design I made is just soda bottle threads. So use it with the carb caps to sandwhich the lid and rubber washers. Only bad thing is i run pin locks so gotta get some ball connectors...

How do other actual brewers feel about 'Beer Flights'?

Lol. All the other breweries in town don't hesitate to give you a few free samples to help decide.

How do other actual brewers feel about 'Beer Flights'?

Went to a local cidery a couple months ago, they had 6oz pours for $4 and pints for $8. It’s fancier cider so pricey but was ok with pint price. After struggling to decide on their 10 ciders the bartender offered their flight of four as an option, which wasn’t listed on the menu. Me and my wife...

    Keg purging with active fermentation

Don’t know if anyone saw my last post as it was the last post before a new page just a couple hours after. But planning to copy the carb cap on the bucket lid trick that was posted earlier. This is my first time researching closed transfers so had a question. Currently all my ferm buckets have...

    Homebrew Talk 3D Print Thread.

Few months back I made these up. Just a printed a disc with a small lip to hold the keg cap and a hole to screw into some wood handles I made. I don‘t brew as often as I would like and occasionally buy commercial kegs so wanted to be able to use the caps they come with. Painted some spares with...

    Keg purging with active fermentation

I’m plannig to copy this exact setup. Found this thread after having an idea for something similar but not sure how to start. All the other options are to complicated for my simple homebrewing and only own buckets currently. Just designed this little thing up for my 3D printer since I don’t have...
