Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

    yep works, I'm not entirely sure on the accuracy, think we're a few decimal points out but hey it'll do ;-) 6 days, 0:00:0011.11111111111111111111111111Sun, 21 May 2017 17:26:41 +0000 11 days, 0:00:0019.44444444444444444444444444Fri, 26 May 2017 17:26:41 +0000 15 days...

This looks awesome, but quick question, how does it work between ˚f and ˚c

Would the connection between the RST and D0 explain why when I to access the set up page via the reset button it takes a few goes to be able to access it?

When you say find the ispindel do you mean on your wifi network? You need to first connect to it as if it were I wifi access point at which point you can set it all up. Then if you went to connect again in the future you need to hit the reset button a few times and whilst you can see it...

I'm not sure whether it's because I only have beer and Fridge probes attached, but I use safari on iOS and OS X and haven't noticed any issues with the LCD display, I'd just assumed you'd repaired the unable to connect issue.

Bit of an update on the boards, they're not quite right. when I say not quite right, I made a couple of school boy errors, I didn't think about what orientation things like the wemos need to be so the gyro would need to be on the underside of the board, and also the female connectors are to...

I used car balancing weights, but regardless you'll almost certainly need around 20gs or so to get the right tilt. Placement obviously makes a big difference too. I needed 10 at the bottom and then 10 halfway up too to get the right balance.

When you hit reset does the blue light flash? The trick I found is that you need to hit the reset a few times and then try and connect over wifi it's a bit of a faff but it can be done. If however the led isn't flashing blue when it's reset I suspect you have killed it, I had something similar...

A what stage is coming up next prompt would be good, also a diacetly rest and cold crash button linking to a predetermined temp would be good. I do like the idea of using a previous log to brew the same beer though. Frustratingly I'm lagering at the moment so have had the same beer since I...

As a point of note, I had my reading every 20 seconds to start, (which is what it recommends to set up) when the battery gets to around 3.0v (is v the correct reading here?) it starts checking every 20mins. I actually plan to set my spindle to maybe a reading every 3-6 hours when I use it...

I did the improved method and used a 1 gallon water bottle with the lid cut off. Wide enough for the spindle to lay flat and deep enough for me to drop a hydrometer in to read the gravity. I'm using bread yeast to ferment. Downside it's taking ages once it's finished I'll post and image of my...

There are two options I use both on different set ups. https://www.sainsmart.com/arduino-pro-mini.html 2 relays one board really easier to set up. Or 2x https://store.brewpi.com/temperature-control/solid-state-relays-ssr/ssr-10a-194 (or any similar 10 a ssr) I think these are gentler on the...

@pocketmon did you ever manage to sort the issue with OS X and excel? I'm getting the error 400 code with Visual Basic and know it's an issue with Excel for Mac, so if you've worked out a way to calibrate that'd be great. Thanks

But as a side note to that using the specified battery and setting log intervals for 30 mins, battery life is noted to be around 3 months.

It's based on the original wiring that is on GitHub so the connections mirror that, I don't think anything is connected to the 3.3v pin on the original circuit. I could be completely wrong though.

OK with a little (read a lot) of help from GromitDJ I've pulled together a first bash of the board design, all the files are here hopefully that link works, the board is 30mmx40mm and should slide in nicely to the sled, and the switches should work too (unlike the shoddy soldering on the board...

I can't find the original link that talks about the angle being between 20-25 deg. So far with 25gs of weight move managed to get it to 23 deg and trying to shift the centre of balance. Can you post a link to the original reference? It's all up and running which is good. On my second one I've...
