This may be a dumb question and feel free to tell me if it is, but how does one account for adjunct grains like flaked oats and flaked barley in the spreadsheet? Do they matter at all? Without putting them in the grain bill section the mash thickness is off and the weight of the grain is off...

If you don't want to keep them around, call the local UPS Store. Most of them will take them as long as they're clean. That's where I take them once I get a garbage bag full.

If you go in and change Lactose from "Sugar" to "Extract" you can change the boil time. I'm not sure what effect this may have on other aspects of its properties in the software, but that's the only way that I can find to change the boil time. You can change it to "Extract," change the boil...

I did have to change the temp offset. Mine was off by about 6 degrees. I think part of this may be due to the short thermocouple combined with the sightglass assembly. I REALLY need to get the longer one. I think it will increase accuracy quite a bit.

I just replaced mine with a different brand. This one seems much better made. It's almost chrome plated in appearance. The other was just copper.

I got mine on ebay. 3 inch stainless with homebrew disconnects for $89.95 with free shipping. After the Perlicks, it came out to about the same as the one linked earlier from Keg Connection. That one was around $160 plus shipping at that time.
