Just brewed a Pliny clone Saturday. Kit from Austin pretty much matches up with the recipe in Glynn's post. (My 3rd all grain batch) SG was spot on. Double pitched Wyeast 1056 with a starter. Can't wait to sample this one.
I would be concerned if it WAS making "dirt" on the side of your "tank". Relax and give it some more time. It can take up to 48 hours to show signs of an active fermentation. (FYI - that gunk is called Krausen)
Even if you did get your submission in in time, I wouldn't expect to see the glasses for a while. Promo's like these usually take a good deal of time to process and ship.

Not yet, going to be doing some remodeling to the basement which includes some additions to my brew space. (New cabinets so I have some storage space) Have the ingredients for my next brew and my current brew is about a week away from transfer to the keg so I have to hold off for a bit.
