My temp probes Ds18B20’s wire directly into the GPIO board they will show up with each having a unique address that shows up in the CraftBeerPi program. From there you can designate them for different equipment as well as calibration. I’m not sure if the PT100s work in the same way.

I use this to give me my inputs and outputs to interface my temp probes and relay output board. I believe you can stack them for more io.
The CraftBeerPi program is capable of being accessed by remote computers through a web address if you’re on the same network. You can run the system at the equipment and from your office computer or even your phone if set up that way. Just something to keep in mind for your design. Good luck...
Maybe I missed something in the thread but why are you going to build circuits with bread boards and components to run your valves? There are relay modules that interface with the RPi IO hat board. You should be able to run your valves and SSR’s with them. The module I use has 10amp relays...
I suppose that would be an option for redundancy but I was under the impression that he just wanted the old temp controls for display only. I’ve had few problems with my setup. If I have a thermocouple not reading right I have spares ready to swap out. It only takes a minute to readdress the...
CraftBeerPi has temps available for display on the screen. There’s no reason to keep your old controllers for temp display. I would build a new panel and ditch the old PID controllers but use the SSR’s. PID control is very functional in the craftbeerpi program.
I would love to test the daisy chain feature on my fermenter I currently use a seedling mat but it’s too small and hard to fasten to be efficient. Can extra heating pads be purchased separately to add on?
Lol been there, done that. Forgot to open a valve on a plate chiller. I had 10’ of 1/2” heavy wall silicone tubing turn into an anaconda under city water pressure before exploding gallons of cold water into my bar brewery. After I got the water shut off all I could do was stand there in...
Thanks. I need to update the graphics to the system I have now. I used to have a gravity fed brew tree that looked like that. I can also view my Rapt Pills on another page or what I have on tap. It’s quite convenient.
I have posted this pic on other threads but I use a RIMS system with a vertical element and a thermocouple inline before it goes into the mash tun. I also have a valve after the heater but only use it to throttle the HLT when I switch to sparge. I can hold temps within a half of a degree with my...
It sounds like you have a good cider recipe figured out. I make cider as well but mostly from kits or when my local brew shop gets in fresh juice in the fall. I have had a similar experience with sulphur smells and off flavour but I use a modified two stage water filter to remove it. I reversed...
Thank you. The quality of my beer is definitely better since I have total control over temps and process. Using a RIMS system has boosted my efficiency and gives me a super clear wort for the boil. I use Wirlfloc tablets and do a whirlpool while chilling with a plate chiller. I also have conical...
