First batch of cyser has been bottle conditioning in my basement since mid december. All of the sediment has settled and it is nearly clear with a color like that of a white zinfandel wine.
The aftertaste is super yeasty and very pungent. It doesnt have any off odors. I thought it might...
Hi all, I brewed this chocolate stout (1.053 og) a couple of weeks back, fermentation took off like a rocket and lasted about 3 days. I checked the SG after 6 days and it was 1.025, way too high (target was 1.013). I let it sit and took it again every 3 days for 9 days, and it didn't change a...
Not sure if this counts, but my college rugby team had a ritual called shooting the boot. Basically, the first time a player scores a try (uh, sort of like a touchdown in football) he has to drink beer out of a old boot (cleat). Other more senior players on the team like to put grass and spit...
Once I brewed some beer over at my friends house to teach him how, and left it in his charge. He popped the airlock grommet into the beer and decided to reach in and try to fish it out. :(
Hi all, I recently brewed a chocolate stout with 8 ounces of hersheys cocoa powder added, and it has hovered around 1.025 for about 5 days. My question is: would adding coca powder affect the final gravity of my beer?
I am already in the process of warming up the brew in case the...
I just brewed a beer almost identical to that, but my hop schedule was a bit different. I did:
.75oz brewers gold 9.4%aa @60 min
1oz Cascade 5.4%aa @ 12 mins
1oz Cascade 5.4%aa DH
And i used pale DME, so my OG was a touch higher.
I figured out that you can peel the labels off and use packing tape to affix it to my home brews. Worked great for my budweiser clamato clone I just made!
The airlock fluid isnt brown, but i pulled it out and peeked in and the krausen is really close to it, so i figure better safe than sorry. I see by your user name you have a jeep, are you on jeepin.com forums at all?
My double bubble style air lock is bubbling nearly constantly on the chocolate stout I brewed yesterday, I'm thinking its time for a blow off tube. Even though this is not a very high gravity OG beer (1.057), do I need one?
