Ok. Thanks. Never done it before and it looked like too much to be all yeast. I never sal the layer of trub people talk about settling out. I just did it last night and I'm pitching in a couple hours so I don't think I need the starter.
I watched several tutorials on harvesting and repitching yeast. They didn't all agree. I racked the beer off of the yeast cake put in some sterile water about half a quart and then dump that into a quart mason jar. I let that sit overnight in my 50° garage. This is what I got. Photo attached...
