My first kit is the block party amber ale from northern Brewer. Beersmith has it coming in at 3.7% ABV. Is there any big effects of adding a LB of dextrose to bump it up to 5%? Thanks

Thanks, i was thinking about adding 1/2 of the extract with roughly 10 min left so it doesn't have a chance to carmelize and have a lighter color beer. That may help prevent me from boiling over.
