    Are you getting fruit flies in through your airlock? I use vodka so it kills them. They have bacteria on them.

    Cat knocked over starter during the middle of the night

    Besides get rid of the cat, what should I do? It had been going about 9 hours, and was bubbling nicely after only 3 hours. Was probably "open" about 6 hours. I had a fermentation lock on top and it didn't come out, just water spilled as well as 1/3 of wort inside bottle . Should I go buy...

    Howdy from Houston

    I am in Houston as well. Just cracked the bottle on my first partial mash yesterday. Doing my second batch tomorrow after the WC game. Would like to get into AG brewing but would like to see it done first. I am in SW Houston.

    Bottle Question: I've been saving bottles, find it hard to remove lables

    I soak mine overnight in some soapy water, then use the back of a knife to scrape the glue off the SN bottles. Rub any excess off with a wash rag. Works like a charm. The Euro bottle labels slip right off, but the SN have thick glue.
