    What I did for beer today

    What kind of fermentor are you using..

    Three wide mouth 1 gallon glass better bottles for small batch wines. 3 six gallon glass car boys for full batch wines. A few 6 gallon buckets for beer. Yeah I have a problem I know.

    Mash Tun Size, & Stir or not to stir

    I preheat mine as well. I actually boil one gallon of water and put it in the MT with the lid on while I am heating the strike water. I dump it out just before I mash in. Usually the drop is 2 degrees in an hour.

    Base Malt in NEIPA

    I just made one, 2 row base, flaked oats, little crystal, Acidulated, wheat, little Munich. .5 oz fwh .5 at 10 minutes about 4.0 oz at whirlpool and some additional at high fermentation. It smells wonderful now. Can give specifics if anyone is interested.

    Want to upgrade to All Grain but have questions!!

    I use a keggle for my 5-6 gallon batches. It is big, but works just fine. When boiling 7 gallons it's only about 1/2 full. Have you thought about mash tuns? I converted a square cooler and it works just fine. Just my

    Proofing Dry Yeast

    Sanitize the yeast pack and pitch it dry. Never had a problem

    Not necessarily going to sparge twice but if it could hold enough water may only do one or none.
