Burner puffs fireballs when turned off

I have three of the low pressure burners from HURRICANE LOW PRESSURE BURNER (NO STAND) @ Williams Brewing I am testing them out now. These are fed through Honeywell valves, and use a standing pilot. The one I use for hash exhibts this problem: when the power is turned off to cut the propane...

    Chocolate malt question

I have a recipe that calls for 4 oz in an 11 gallon batch. Is that just for color, or taste too? The reason I ask is that it also calls for 20L and 40L crystal, and if the chocolate is just for color I can substitute the 60 L I have on hand.

    Tubing ID

In plumbing my new system, is there any benefit of 1/2"ID versus 3/8"? I'm planing on using SS and sanitary fittings. But the 1/2" sanitary have an actual ID of 3/8. I don't see why this would be an issue, as I'm always restricting my flow through the pumps anyway (for spargeing & cooling)...

Sabco vs conical pros and cons help!

I'm actually very well informed, thanks. It's a bit of a stretch to all price a feature. Well, actually, it simply isn't a feature. A purchasing point sure. And I love that you concoct a scenario under which it is hard to take a sample. If the BH was in a sealed box, it would then not b...

Sabco vs conical pros and cons help!

First of all, the Brewhemoth is a very late to the game, and ads no features over any existing product on the market, and that has been on the market, for at least a decade. Secondly, there are many people would would disagree with the combination of features, me being one of them. And lastly...

    Woo! Got a free 20# CO2 Tank!

No, it is not illegal. Some companies may not want to refill it, thinking that it is stolen. And that is their choice. But it's not illegal.

Sabco vs conical pros and cons help!

I understand your desire to use the same tank for conditioning too, but, I wanted to ferment another batch while conditioning or laggering the first. So two months ago, when faced with this same choice, I decided to go Sabco. I also purchased their conditioning tank. This way, I can use CO2 to...

    extra fridge for fermentation chamber?

CO2 may or may not escape. That is dependent on many things, and no one could know without seeing the unit in question. As to why, first, pressure has an effect on fermentation, which is why fermenters are never - and should never - be fully sealed. Secondly, a tightly sealing fridge could be...

    Crankandstein 2S?

I have a 3, but it adjusts the same. It adjusts great, and I love it. Just loosen the thumb screws, and rotate the connecting bar.

    extra fridge for fermentation chamber?

You'd want some ay for the CO2 to escape.

Very odd issue with new fermenter

I just did my first fermentation with a Sabco fermenter. I have this very odd issue that makes me think I may need to dump the batch. When I purchased the fermenter, it looked clean, so I only sanitized it. I set it up, and put the blow off tube into a jug 1/2 of sanitizer. When I...
