Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Thanks Teddy4xP. Brewed Sunday and I ended up using them for the 5 min addition. 5 oz is all I had and I have read that a good ratio is 5:1 for wet hops. This beer looks and smells great already. OG 1.062. Looking forward to taking that first pull.

Specialty IPA: Red IPA India Red Ale

Read through the first 7 pages and didn't notice anyone mention using fresh off the vine hops. I have some 1st year Casade I am thinking of using in this recipe next weekend. Any thoughts or words of wisdom on this idea? Cheers!!

Is my Lager yeast going to be OK?

Thanks guys for the tips. This will be only my second true lager. The first went well with the same amount of yeast pitched so didn't think much of it. I will deffinatley take your advice and do a couple starters. Cheers!!

Is my Lager yeast going to be OK?

So I was getting ready to start a Vienna Lager today and when I hooked up the hose to the hose bib and turned it on for the season I discovered I had a pipe freeze over the winter. So instead of brewing, I got to clean up gallons and gallons of water in the basement. The problem is I had...

Thanks Brewski. I do plan to age this for a while. Even thinking of possibly aging on some Makers soaked white oak. Thoughts?

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I may have missed this in the first 15 pages that I read on the thread so my apologies, but what would be the recommended carb level for this brew. I am 3 weeks in primary, still need to take a reading to make sure it's finished but will be looking to bottle half of this batch and keg the other...

    Over carbed bottles..I think??

Hello. Right to the point. I made 10 gal. of a Scottish ale a few months ago. Kegged half and bottled the second half for my buddy. He let it carb over a few weeks (3-4) and put some in the fridge. When he opened the first bottle it fizzed pretty good but he tried drinking it anyway. After...

    All-Grain Berliner Weisse

Looks great! Thinking of doing this brew today-tomorrow. Question regarding the lacto starter. Do you leave the jar open to the air while it get's going? Maybe a rookie question, but this will be my first time attempting a sour. Thanks for the help!

    Low OG, anyway to salvage?

Thanks Funkswing. I have been brewing for several years now and this is the first time I have had this issue. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Wish I knew how I screwed up so bad.
