    Should I enter this competition?

    Total IBU's = 114.7

    Should I enter this competition?

AA was 17% for Warrior, 10.3% for Amarillo, 9.9% for Falconers and the cascades (whole leaf) were 7.1% If your beer is too hoppy with the warrior hops then up the barley. I know that most people would tell you to use a less effective hop...but not me (and I've got the ribbons to go with it)...

    Should I enter this competition?

Well I thought I had posted to this thread but maybe not. WHAT KIND OF WEB DEVELOPER AM I? Anyways, I did well in the competition. I got 2nd in the category and a rye IPA finished first. I have tried the rye IPA and it was a very nice brew. I am improving on the recipe for next year. I...

    Should I enter this competition?

Thanks for all of the great responses everyone. I did enter the competition with that IPA and placed 2nd in the category. Since then I have been improving the recipe. Adding more hops and umm...alcohol. The improved recipe is as follows for those of you interested. AG by the way ;)...

    Should I move to secondary

I have a beer in primary right now that is still (STILL!) bubbling on occasion. Not necessarily a bad thing but it has been 2 weeks since I pitched. My question is should I move it to the secondary now or continue to wait it out?

    Ordering my brewery TONIGHT!

This one is easy for me...get a true brew kit. I have been at this for a few years now and aside from this hobby becoming an expensive, delicious addiction...you're gonna find things in that kit you will use for quite some time. For example, I still use the same hydrometer, capper, carboy and...

Fermenting a lager at ale temps

beer (just like people) will stand up on it's feet better with age. The flavors will balance out with time. As far as using lager yeast at ale temps. That is typical of steam beer or california common (both are the same thing...i think) I do like the lagering idea. It's good to know you're...

i just finished my first batch. whats next?

Okay, they sediment in the bottom of each bottle is yeast sediment from the conditioning process. It is a normal part of bottling. You can eliminate it by filtering your beer. Unfortunately, you would filter out the yeast and therefore need to force carbonate your beer. There is nothing...

    Any ideas for beer name

I have brewed a couple of beers for a local competition. Okay, so I brewed one for it and the other one was an accident that just happens to be the most beautiful accident ever (my child was planned). I just thought I could get some ideas for naming my brews. I will try to describe them...

    Should I enter this competition?

One last thing, if anyone found their site...notice that they don't have an IPA. IT IS TIME!

    Should I enter this competition?

    - All great questions here. I will answer a couple real quick. First, I am not sure if the brewery is one that brews with extracts or not. Like I said before I am an AG brewer and love the labor, this particular brew of mine was mostly an accident from a brainstorm at my HBS. If anyone is...

    Should I enter this competition?

Okay, so let's say for the sake of argument that I have brewed a batch of the best IPA I have ever had in my life. It's big (sorry, BIG) bodied, perfectly hopped with great color and aromas. Just my luck, there is a local home brewing competition that I am sure this beer will do well in. The...
