    Mixing Beers

I tried St Pauli's Girl and Sammy Smith's Imperial Stout... 3:1 It gave the St Pauli's Girl a wonderful warmth.

    Out of Date Beers

I'm sorry, but even if a beer does hold up well to aging and I want an aged beer then I will do it myself under my conditions. I don't trust the EZ Chek next door to handle my beer for that long properly. I also want my Dogfish Head 60min. to be hoppy.. these beers weren't because it had been so...

    Out of Date Beers

Its not a chill haze.. I let it sit out and poured 3 different bottles. The Dogfish Head says it was bottled on 05/05/09. I' much less owrried about this than the Fireman's #4... it's bad no doubt. It says drink by 11/24/09 but even still could just be a bad 6er.. skunked.

    Out of Date Beers

...beer doesn't go out of date? Not everything ages well.. anything that isn't high in alcohol content really shouldn't be aged is what I've read. The Real Ale was cloudy; it smelled and tasted sour. The Dogfish Head tasted sour and smelled off. This is one of my favorites.. I know how it...

    Out of Date Beers

I've had a lot of trouble with out of date beers in my area. I got a Magic Hat Winter Seasonal from one store and discovered when I got home it was from last year! Luckily they let me exchange for some other stuff. But just tonight I got a six pack of Dogfish Head 60min and a 6er of Rio...

    Oaked Arrogant Bastard

I may have had too much beer and turkey, but I have to agree. I picked up the Oaked on Thanksgiving and though AB is something I can drink and drink, the Oaked version was a huge treat. It has something special to it that I can't figure out. I'm getting a 6er to have one periodically...

    Mixing Beers

Well, I haven't had a chance to start homebrewing yet (isn't that what xmas is for? ;)), it gives me a great way to feel like I'm doing something myself. Anything seems to mix well with Bombshell Blonde... gonna have to grab some Dales Pale Ale and see if they do well. A can concoction..

    Mixing Beers

I've come up with a few concoctions in the past few days. I've found that Southern Star's Bombshell Blonde mixes well with just about anything. I tried it with Magic Hat's Howl (which rounds out the beer very nicely) and also their Winter Odd Notion (really tames this wild beer); I also found...

    Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout

I definitely agree that La Fin DU Mond is more along the lines of my taste than Chimay. And there's also no doubt that I'd take any Sammy Smith over Unibroue.. more my style (and nt really comparable for the most part).
