If somebody has retrofitted the new pump onto a 35L (120V at that) I'd love to see a video.
Although, if the stronger pump doesn't solve any problems, that's moot. The flow rate of the 4.0 pump is fine, clogging is the issue.
I'm a few brews into my own replacement and the connection is cooler than ever. Seems like a bit of a defect from the factory that hopefully is sorted out now. I got the Gen4 as soon as it was available in my country.
Just had a similar meltdown on my Gen4 last night. It's my 70th brew on it and no complaints but I have noticed the plug getting hot from time to time (on max boil of course). However last night was something else as I could definitely smell something burning. The brew completed fine but I...
That doesn't work for me at all. I've used it maybe 5 times so far. No way I can get it properly secured around the re-circ pipe and attached to itself. Usually it barely holds on and the re-circ pipe isn't really covered.
I have done about 50 brews on my 35L Gen4. Only once did I have water shoot out the side of the mesh, and that was partly because the mesh bottom wasn't seated properly.
Thankfully mine has the second set of feet so I use that to let it drain for a few minutes. However I sparge with it at the...
I have done this as well but don't have a lot of fridge/kegerator space. Do you think it's ok to pull out the spent keg and leave it sealed closer to room temp for any length of time?
There are instructions in the manual on reconfiguring the T junction. The manual says this would allow the tap to train even if there's a blockage in the pump. The downside I see is that you'd have to rely on gravity to drain rather than a "quick drain" by turning the pump on, which I like to...
I have started using the top screen on the malt pipe for sparging, I think it distributes the water quite well, and you can give it a "push" at the end to squeeze more through the grain.
Quick disconnect for your water source or something else?
