    Apple/Cider taste in beer

Hello, I've been home brewing for over a year and have about 10 batches under my belt. I brew partial mash batches and use a 5 gallon Igloo cooler for a mash tun. I usually fill my mash tun with specialty grains and base malt and only have to use a few pounds (2-4lbs) of liquid extract at...

How big is your MLT cooler?

I want to get a few partial mash brews under my belt before I switch over to all grain. I still have a lot of modifications to make (ball valves on my kettles, figuring out how to transfer from kettle to kettle seeing how I have limited space). I'm sure I'll run into a handful of issues seeing...

How big is your MLT cooler?

Bobby, thanks for the chart, thats extremely helpful. I think if i want to one day to an all grain batch on my system I would be making it out with the 5 gallon mash ton. But seeing how I'm sticking to partial mash for right now I have plenty of room.

How big is your MLT cooler?

I'm relatively new to brewing (I brew with a buddy of mine that has a complete single tier brewery) and started compiling my own equipment to being brewing on my own. My plan is to brew 5-6 gallon batches, partial mash. I've checked into the various threads out here for PM and as of right...

    Perl Faucet Problem-Help!

I believe I (with a lot of help from Mike at DIY Brewing Supply) figured out the issue with the Perlick Perls. The backside of the Perls only have 32 groves, which differs from the 64 grove industry standard. Why would they change the number of groves on the faucet, who knows? And they didn't...

    Perl Faucet Problem-Help!

FreeBooters, I have the same issue with the Perlick Perl, the groves on the faucet don't line up with the grove on the shanks, were you ever able to resolve the issue on the original shanks or did you buy new shanks? I don't want to resort to filing down the groves. Any insight you can...

    Homemade tap handles

Bensiff, I thought about doing the same, not sure how much I'd like the extra wide handle. Could probably join the two with a piece of threaded rod. What did you use?

    Homemade tap handles

Chris, Thanks for the links, I really like the second ones. I'll need to find a way to create nice labels like he had but at least its easy enough to chance the labels for the different types of beer we'll have on tap.

    Homemade tap handles

I’m looking for new ideas for customized homemade tap handles. I’ve been brewing with a buddy of mine over the past year which motivated me to build my own bar/kegerator. I have a handful of tap handles from the liquor store from kegs I’ve bought but as we’ve been...
