    This was my first attempt brewing a Saison. And you are right on, there is gunky stuff mixed with the blobs. I will keep it fermenting for at least 20 days or until the yeast has done its job. Thanks for the info. tb

    Yesterday I brewed an extract Saison. I have always used Irish Moss. Another brewer recommended Whirlfloc. I used one tablet per label instructions at last 15 minutes of boil. Today, I have blobs of protein floating in my carboy. Its not what I want to see. Can it be filtered out? will cold...

    Thanks to all. I got the notion of adding peach flavor after drinking a seasonal brew from Shiner, called "Cheer". I was hoping to duplicate the flavor with the Dunkelweisen recipe (5-gallon). I'll ask the folks at my local brew store if they stock the peach puree, and or the extract. Thanks...

    what about the steril aspect of using fresh fruit? will the alcohol in the wort kill off any bacteria in the fruit? t

    New to brewing and homebrew talk. I want to flavor a dunkelweisen with peach extract. When should the extract be applied? in the boil, primary, or secondary. This is for a 5-gallon brew, t.barley
