    Bad beer? Help?

totally a reflection. at 9 o'clock is the pantry room door. you can see how the shadow follows the curve of the bucket. At 10 o'clok is the over head light. the rest of the ceiling spreads over to 1 o'clock. The big shadow between 1 and 9 is me holding my tablet to take a picture.

    Bad beer? Help?

So, my beer has been bubbling for about two weeks.... I was thinking, "man that yeast is really working." But then i started thinking, "i hope something isnt growing in there." I popped the lid today to dry hop and this is what it looks like...

    Bad Beer - What Happened?

This seems to make sense. The question now is ... what do I do? I read this ... https://byo.com/hops/item/1493-the-power-of-ph ... and my head is swimming. It seems like it would be easier to go back to buying the natural spring water from the store that I was using. Unless, of course...

    Bad Beer - What Happened?

I don't meter my pH and I have been doing all grain for a while. From reading this here ... http://www.morebeer.com/content/homebrew-off-flavors ... it sounds like I got an Astringent Flavor. Maybe it is the tannins? Maybe I squeezed the bag a little too much after mashing? Could my sparge...

    Bad Beer - What Happened?

Everything was the same. The fermentation temp could be a possibility. We had some warm days and it might have gotten a little warmer than ideal. However I brewed two batches (different beers but similar) and the other one is ok. I did change my water source. I started using my well water...

    Bad Beer - What Happened?

Hey Guys! I had a couple of beers turn out not like I expected. One of them I had brewed twice before, so I was really surprised when it came out like it did. This is the recipe... 9.5 lb 2 row .75 lb Caramel Crystal 60L .75 lb Caramel Crystal 90L 1 lb Vienna 1oz Cascade - 60 1oz Citra - 15...

    My first Big Beer

This may be a problem... summer is upon us and I don't have any AC. I don't think the cloudiness of the PNW will last through June :/

    My first Big Beer

Thanks for the tip on the aeration! I modified the recipe in the OP and cut down on the crystal. I don't have a starter, is using 2 vials going to be ok?

    My first Big Beer

I like crystal malts. I have not got into making starters yet. I have only been brewing for about a year and have not made the jump. Thanks for the tip on the WLP090, I will check it out.

    My first Big Beer

I was not really thinking of any style. I actually just modified one on my amber ale recipes that I like a lot. I increased the hops over what I normally do, because I read somewhere that with larger beers your hops will be less effective. I may have a few too many in there still.

    My first Big Beer

Thanks for the tip but this has spurned more questions... How would suggest doing this? Right now my aeration consists of pouring back and forth between my brew pot and fermentation buckets. Should I pour it back and forth between some buckets or some other method? And when you say...
