Exactly what I was going to say. I gave up drinking/brewing until I lost some weight. Smoking meats was a great replacement. Growing hydroponic vegetables is another one you might enjoy.

I had the same problem - I just started all grain, so I didn't know what my efficiency was going to be. I was trying one of the recipes in Brewing classic styles and assumed mine would be at most 80%. I batch sparged in a 5 gallon igloo with a copper manifold and got in the low 90s. OG was...

You're lucky to have a LHBS near you in BHM. I'm near Montgomery, and I don't think there's one within 100 miles. I'm guessing you've heard of sulawesi coffee. I use sulawesi on the svrider forum, but my post count is about as low on that one as it here.
