I use fresh dry hops that I grow. They take up more space, and I never really know how much aa I will get. I can smell how good they are and taste them to see how bitter they are. If you buy them you'll know what the levels are. really my only issue is the volume they take up. I definitely...

I prefer to siphon off my kettle after I cool it and leave a lot of the hops and break material behind. I used to dump it all in and the beer came out fine. Filters that remove sugar, that's funny;)

Nice! I just bottled up a 4 pack of " accidental " fresh cider that started fermentation in my fridge. I didn't do anything but take it out and put it on counter with an airlock, it tastes pretty good! Why let it go to waste, my wife would have dumped it.

I just use a scotch brite pad and lightly clean my pots, bkf will remove etching on nice kettles. A bit of dish soap if needed and rinse. The less crap I put on it the better, elbow grease is good. Exception for aluminum pots, don't scrub off the oxide layer.

Yeah it's fine....I don't bother with secondary, more chance for infection, most of the time it's unnecessary.

Man that looks great! Good job, don't sweat the small stuff, I remember thinking, oh no I did this or that wrong, the batch is ruined....and those were some of my best beers. Crazy how that works....

Congratulations! I still like to do extract, it's great when it's cold and just want to do something that's not gonna take too much time indoors. Plus it's a good way to test homegrown hops.
