I have been having my root beer through the helix for almost two and it seems to be great. The helix creates "head" for the soda. It's great.
I did trials with different lengths of helixes.
My final conclusion was to cut the helix by 1/3. The picture I added shows 1 swirl of the helix. There...
Oh I see. I thought you meant you had used the cubes and not chips. Sorry about that. So wow, 4oz can do up to 25 gal of wine? That's crazy.
I'm basically trying to get a barrel effect on a budget. The toasted cubes sounded like something I could mess around with and possibly achieve what I'm...
I've seen them online from williamsbrewing dot com in 4oz packs. How many "ounces" is a good or right amount for a homebrew? 5 gallon batch.
Can they be re-used like a barrel can be re-used?
Thanks in advance.
I've been looking on here about the Helixes and I can't seem to find the thread. He went into real in depth stuff on how to get a properly carbonated and served glass of root beer from a Kegerator.
I'm sorry about that.
I'll be sure to do my write up once I get the helixes and place them in...
I bought the same thing. I've actually had the commercially produced stuff too in bottle and cans.
I just mixed and kegged it this week too. What I tried was chilling for 24hrs at 36 degs. Then attached the gas line on the 'out' post with 35psi going into the post. It will fit. It's a tight...
Thanks guys.
Yeah I think if I don't get hit with a lazy spell, I'll do the wood spacer. The angler would only be considered if I'm in a "just don't feel like it" mood seeing as $12+ dollars before shipping is pretty steep for something so simple.
I am appreciative for the link either...
I hope this worked.
Those are the most *edit* recent batches I've made. I'm deployed right now in Afghanistan so no brewing or kegging until Nov.
From top to bottom it is Bust a CAP Pilsner, Hefe Bataan Weizen, and Pumpkin Porter Batch #Dos.
Those are Perlick Creamer faucets. The...
I like the angler but seeing how it's a simple item, the price comparison to a wood spacer, painted black to almost match my kegerator's color, it's a no brainer.
Thanks for the link though. At least I know if I get lazy, I can get that. :mug:
Yeah. I have the 'average' shank length 4.5...
What I'm trying to do is increase the space between the tap handle and my fridge door. Right now, I can't put a tap handle any bigger than the generic black ones that come with most home brew keg kits.
If I try to put a taller or bigger tap handle on it, the creamer feature because irrelavent...
