I was reading an alternate thermometer which I found out at the end was wrong. My temp controller was set 62 but I kept reading the other temp meter and I kept turning the controller down to meet 62 which was really 58

Racking to secondary and leaving headspace

I'm doing my first lager and I just racked from a 6 gallon to a 5 gallon carboy and I still have some headspace. Is this ok? Also I sucked up some leftover lees and gunk of the bottom it wasn't much will this throw an off flavor?

    Coors clone question

I got it from a friend . I also have a recipe for a California common . I'm gonna try to use an ale yeast for that one too.

    Coors clone question

I understand. I'm completely set up to lager and brew anything. I've never done a coors clone . My parents are light beer drinkers and I wanna brew a batch they would like. Just thought I could get away with an ale yeast

    Coors clone question

Wanna brew a coors clone and my recipe calls for 6# American 2row and 3# flake maize. Do I have to lager this beer or can I use an ale yeast.

    Secondary or not

U say 5 gal carboy for 5 gal batch. Why wouldn't a 6 gallon work? This is my first lager
