    Good cheap pale ale

You guys are awesome! I'm hoping this works out well because I'm always wanting to brew but seldom have the scratch to afford a full decent kit. This is good stuff

    Good cheap pale ale

Hey all I've been brewing for a couple years now and I've done about 7 batches with fairly good results. I just got a mr beer kit as a present. I've always done full 5 gallon batches but this little thing has got me excited. I want to do a small batch pale ale I can hopefully have done in...

    Crazy vigorous fermentation

jackpot! That's kind of my philosophy. I'd rather be ignorant and enjoy my beer than to know all the subtle flavor variations and never be satisfied

    Crazy vigorous fermentation

I've pitched at this temp before and it still tastes good (in my opinion at least haha) is it a hard and fast rule that pitching at higher temp causes off flavors or is it just a crap shoot? Oh and it was wyeast 1056. It was the first liquid yeast I've done

    Crazy vigorous fermentation

Hey all, So I'm still newish to brewing though I've done about 7 successful batches. I've always done them roughly the same way and they've all been extracts I just brewed a Sierra Nevada clone. I couldn't for the life of me get the wort to cool down so after an hour and a half of trying I...

Can you have too little priming sugar?

Well crap :-/ guess all I can do is put it in some warmer climes and wait

Can you have too little priming sugar?

Yeah it's mixed pretty well. I'm in a new house and I put the beers in my laundry room that's shut off from the rest of the house so it might have been a few degrees cooler. If I move it in the main part of the house where it's around 72 degrees will it get back in action? Even if the yeast has...

Can you have too little priming sugar?

Hello all I just Brewed a northern Brewer extra pale ale extract kit. The Abv ended up around 4.5% The recipe recommended 2/3 cup of priming sugar to 16 oz of water for mixing in brew before bottling. This is my 5th batch and I've always used a full 5 oz of priming sugar but my last batch...

Pitched extra hops and flame out

hello all, I just brewed my 5th batch last night so im still a relative newb I did the northern brewer extra pale ale extract kit. I got an additional 1 oz of cascade to dry hop after a couple weeks in the fermenter but as i started to chill the brew pot i dont know what i was thinking but i...

    Weird carbonation....

Ok so I waited an extra week and the carbonation is perfect! However the columbus hops gave it WAY too much bitterness on the back end. It's not terrible but....it certainly isn't a 420. So note to self, no Columbus hops in a pale ale Thank you for all the input!
