    Gnarly smell...Again!!!

When I had a little go around with "The Gusher" bug I just filled up the tub with water/bleach mix and treated every piece of equipment I have...every last piece including all my empty bottles, even took everything apart..ie spigots in bottling buckets and siphons. Rinsed it all off with clean...

    Gnarly smell...Again!!!

Three things. 1: Are you completely rinsing your oxy clean dish soap off of everything thoroughly? That would lead to an off flavor. 2: Old re-used star san. Yes you can re-use it...for a while..but if you leave it sit too long it gets funky nasty. I got a band aid beer from that. 3: Taking good...

So who's worked in their main electrical panel?

As if its any different than driving 70 mph hour in a 55 to get home a few minutes earlier and risking the life of others as well as yourself. Classic.

    Thermostat Bypass

I just read a thread here recently about bypassing the factory settings to make the thermostat go lower..or higher. There is an adjustment screw behind that sticker if I remember right. If i find that forum post again I will send you that direction. There are sever versions that are shown how to...

    Starting an electric brewery

Some good advice given already. The main thing I will say is PATIENCE. I just converted to electric (Kal Clone) and love it. I don't really think I would do it different than the way I approached it. Much like you it seems money was an obstacle I had to work with. I started with my control box...

HLT HERMS vs Mash Tun coil

I would go with the coil in the HLT and circulate the wort. I am not saying that it cannot be done..or isn't currently being applied by some people in their brewery. The biggest reason is temperature stratification. Your wort with be at the temp you want right by the coil but slowly get cooler...

    50 Amp Power Cord

Well...I had to go the 70$ route because 6 ft doesnt even come close to giving me enough cord length. I didn't hardwire because I have a 50 amp cord with a 30a receptacle. This was done for future upgrade purpose, and I can use my outlet for other things when not in use by my brewery.

    50 Amp Power Cord

I was dealing with this same issue a couple weeks ago. I found a nice deal on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/390511567660?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 gave me the plug on one end and loose wires on the other to add whatever plug I wanted.

    Kal Clone almost complete.

The wire ducts came with the enclosure as shown. I just arranged it in a way to use them the most efficient I could. I am no electrician, and if I had to do it over again, there would be several changes. I would combine more neutrals together and lessen the amount of wire I needed. All in all it...

Well its been a long tiresome road but I am almost done. Would like to thank a ton of people for the help even tho they probably didn't know they were helping. Anyway I will try to post some pics after this. I warn you they wont be "awsome". I am just happy this is winding down and I should be...
