No, didn't try the original but I should have. This is one of those recipes that made me stop trying clones before I have tried the original. Just not my thing although it made great ice cream!
Here is my simple two teir put together using metal from an old truck rack. No fancy gadgets here but it does the trick. Hoping to add a pump soon though.
I think the first book a new home brewer should read is "the joy of home brewing", Charie does a great job emphasizing the need to relax and have fun. I don't know how many times I have repeated the mantra, "don't worry, have a home brew"!

I'm wanting to make a 10 gallon batch of this but my mash tun is not large enough for all the grain and strike water. Anyone successfully modified this recipe to substitute some grain for extract?
I am working on my home brew stand and picked up a couple 10" banjo burners. I am getting ready to mount them and I am wondering what height I should mount them at. Can anyone tell me what the ideal height is from the bottom of the kettle to the top of the burner?
