    unenforceable laws, and you have no idea how many people are in our household so you have no way to know whether we're breaking them or not. will you just help the thread and help me figure out the solution to this question rather than going off on a tangent?

    what would happen if you added two types of yeast?

    let's say i make a standard ale: 10 lbs two-row 1.5oz Hallertau @ 60 but then i used say... 1056 and 1214 yeasts... what would happen? would you get characteristics of both strains? i'm assuming this is one of those "if it worked it would have been done by now" situations, but i've never...

    quick newbie question

    hey, making Bug's Rye Cream Ale, and it calls for a pound of flaked corn and flaked rye. i'm all-grain, and assume that i add these to my mash? thanks in advance, -Kelly

    adding cocoa to a brown ale

    a few things: yes you can add it to the secondary. it will kill the head retention though. i used some crystal 60 + wheat malt in my latest choco-stout to offset it. i believe the best time is to add it to the end of the boil. i dont have a clue what type of cocoa you should use...

    anyone have any idea where I could go to browse used brewing equipment. looking to purchase a 3.5bbl system in the next year or so, and i thought i'd start looking for the pieces now. any input would be very much appreciated.

    i've been having troubles with my brews lately, and I can't figure out why. the most recent problem is the head of my beer. it pours a head, but as soon as it dies down i have these much larger, oil colored, THICK bubbles just chillin there i mean these bubbles look like... a condom...
