    Oatmeal Stout Yooper's Oatmeal Stout

I brew a vanilla bourbon stout and used this recipe for the base beer on my last batch. The flavor is great but I need to figure out my head retention issues. For the vanilla bourbon I soaked 2 oz of oak chips in 3 shots of Makers Mark and a tbsp of Mexican vanilla extract for a couple days...

Help convert my extract recipe to all grain

I have a great extract IPA that I've brewed many times and everyone really enjoys it. I haven't brewed it since I went all grain and obviously want to do my best to replicate it with my new system. I'm hoping to get some assistance with the conversion. Here's the recipe.... 6 lbs Pilsen LME...

American Pale Ale Kona, Fire Rock Pale Ale (AG Clone)

I brewed this back in March and bottled it on April 15. Had my first taste last night and holy smokes this is delicious. I used Simcoe instead of Mt Hood and threw in a half ounce of Simcoe to dry hop as well. OG came in at 1.062 and FG was 1.008. It's remarkably easy drinking at around 7%. It...

American Wheat Beer Summer Citrus Wheat

I brewed this recipe back in February and bottled it on St Patrick's Day. It is awesome!!! My efficiency was low as it was my first all grain but the taste is outstanding. The ABV came in around 4.5% so it's a perfect yard work session beer for spring and summer. This one is definite going into...

    My $7 DIY Mash Paddle

Everything I've read says to not stain your mash paddle. Either use mineral oil, butchers block oil or leave it naked. I'm leaving mine naked.

    My $7 DIY Mash Paddle

This was my first DIY brewing project and it turned out better than I expected. The wood is a piece of oak and was originally 36" x 5 1/2". It was $7 at Home Depot. I went with a circle design and measured four times so I only had to cut once. Not bad for a few hours of work (mostly sanding)
