I don't know the actual answer other than I used all 4 oz recently without really thinking and it was entirely too much for 5 gall batch
I'd guess maybe 1 oz woulda been good - but sure someone else can say something more exact...
Just recently finished
Only one tap currently but room for 4 once I get my flow goin again
Spent so much time creating I fell behind in brewing :(
Salvaged some fridge parts
Shelf sits nicely on one side for any spare cans of beer (live at beach so necessary)
and drawer on other side for...
Thanks! After reading several other threads
It sounds like the using entire yeast cake may be "overpitching" - which can have some consequences...
So I may follow method others suggest by using 1/2 or 1/4 of cake to get closer to proper amt of yeast
Not exact science but... Seems like an ok...
I've been considering just pitching directly over a yeast cake too...
But my LHBS owner keeps discouraging it
I'm thinking that's more about selling me more yeast than anything else though...
Everyone once in a while their advice is a little self-serving...
Gonna give it a try with next batch...
I call it

Sipping on my First Draft from the newly built Keezer!
It's delicious and having my own brew on tap in my home is amazing!
(Though potentially dangerous)
Can't wait to get all 4 taps goin!
I attached collar to base rather than to lid
But if I were attaching to lid I would prob remove rubber seal and try to put it on bottom of collar for a good seal
This represents one of reasons I chose not to do it that way
Less modifications required...
But I'm not concerned about the extra...
I used Loctite clear caulk at the advice of another keezer builder
It worked great and dried clear so no signs of anything... And used it to seal seams on inside as well...
Good stuff! Much better looking than messy gorilla glue!
I've bottled in Coors Light aluminum Screw Tops and they hold pressure. Use them for places that don't like glass bottles such as beach or parks...
Not sure how many batches these aluminum bottles will last for as I've only done it three times but... Kinda think they may be done...
Only...
I'm in process of my first Keezer build!
And wondering if it REALLY matters whether the faucets and shanks are stainless steel or chrome...
Anybody got any advice/experience???
Impact taste/quality or cleaning?
Or is it just looks/preferences?
