    Pale Ale & Fruit

I don't have much experience with fruit beers, but pie filling seems to scream no to me, that would probably be too much extra sugars. not sure about concentrate, but it's also something I would avoid. My best recommendation would be to wait until the fruit you want is in season, then go...

    Good Commercial Mead

Just had my first mead, from Drake Brother's Meadery in Columbus, Ohio. The stuff was fantastic. They are a very small meadery, only available in about 10ish stores in columbus, but are growing quickly. They started as homebrewers, and their operation is very very very small. They have 5 265...

    Hops to stock up on..

I think it depends on your personal preference, but if you plan on brewing IPA's magnums are great for bittering, and cascades are one of my personal favorites for just about anything. I would say pick a few hops you like, and order those. Don't know what you like yet? Brew more!

    No fizzies in my bottle.......

Two days is not nearly enough, give it some more time. I'd check it in a week or two, three preferably. Also, what temperature are you storing them at?

    Hop pellets are dust.

Yeah, I think i accidently inhaled some when I took a good whiff of them, because they smell delicious. My nose burned for about half an hour.

    Hop pellets are dust.

Thank god, that was the answer I was hoping for. and the zombie apocalypse is coming? why didn't anybody warn me sooner. I might have to brew a second batch today to hold me over for a while.

    Hop pellets are dust.

Alrighty, while I'm awaiting my water to boil, I was getting my first dose of hops ready for my ipa. Opened up my package of nugget pellets, only to find they are nearly completely crushed into a powder. Should I still put them in, or should I pitch them and just be an ounce short?

alcohol booster- corn sugar? how much?

Why wouldn't you just brew a beer that's style is supposed to have a high alcohol percentage, then?

Pitching onto yeast cake= wild fermentation within minutes!

Washing the yeast is probably your best option, then you store it in the fridge. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f13/yeast-washing-illustrated-41768/ Edit: damn...I didn't look at the second page for some reason

    Adding lactose at bottling.

Well, bottling my second brew tomorrow, a vanilla cream ale I found on these forums. I'm adding both lactose and pure vanilla extract to the bottling bucket. I was wondering if i should just dump them in there, or is there a chance for infection if I do that? I was thinking about just putting...

The Most Terrible Beer Ever orrr The Worst Beer Of All Time?

Just thought of another one that I forgot about. It was brewed out of a brewery in kentucky, and it was called...get this...Horse Piss Beer.:rockin: Yeah, I should have known it was going to be terrible, but the name was funny and the picture on the label made me giggle. I guess the whole...

The Most Terrible Beer Ever orrr The Worst Beer Of All Time?

I was going to say natty light, but somebody had to bring up sa cherry wheat...I try to purge that god awful stuff from my memory. The first bottle I had I was pretty tanked, and it tasted fantastic. Like cherries. I told the one guy I work with that drinks good beer and he asked me if I was...

    Just finished my first brew.

Yes, that brewing smell is wonderful. I wouldn't worry about your brew though. I obsessed about my first one. Constantly checked on it, always wanted to take gravity readings just to make sure something was happening. Well i cracked a bottle today after 1 week, and while it wasn't quite...

    Damn little yeasts...crazy buggers...

yup, i just learned my lesson with my cream ale. Mine was apparently a bit more violent than yours though, as i found my lid upside down on top of my bucket and a mess 3ish feet above the fermentor on the walls.
