Where can I get some wooden or plastic cases for storing 24 12oz bottles. I have paper 6 pack and 12 pack holders but I would like to stack cases like 5 high for storage. I could use 10 of them. thanks
Hi there. I don't make alot of beer so I still consider myself a beginner even though I have been making beer for 2 years. One recipe I make alot is:
5 gallon batch
6 lbs german extract
Wyeast 1187 Ringwood ale yeast
Willamette hopps...
I bought a 6oz pellet pack of Willamette hops and it will take me months to use it all up. How should I store the balance that I am not using? Fridge? Freezer? Also I have been using the same hops for starting and finishing. Is this ok and any suggestions to alter this?
I made 2 batches of beer and the only thing I did different was I used a different yeast in each one. One came out very clear and the other very cloudy. I like my beers to be as clear as possible so can anyone recomend what kind of yeasts I should use?
well I used 1 can of hopped extract and 2 lbs of DME so I boiled it for 1/2 hour. Alot of people are telling me to boil for only 5 or 10 min because of the DME. Do you agree?
Thanks...I did notice towards the end of drinking the batch the last few bottles were not as bitter. Should I leave it in the glass carboy longer? and if so roughly how much longer
I made a beer that I really liked but it was a tad bitter for me. I did not use any brewing sugar but I think next time I will. Can anyone advise me on how much sugar to add to a 5 gallon batch? Will a tablespoon or 2 be enough?
I have 36 22 ounce beer bottles and no way to carry them. Does anyone know where I could buy 4 pack, 6 pack or even 12 pack carriers? Wood would be ok also. I thought of making some out of wood myself but if I could buy some it would be better for me. Thanks Dan
My wife is a very good gardner and since I am now making my own beer she wants to grow some hops for me. We live in the Chicago area (zone 5 for growing if that means anything to anyone). Does anyone have any thoughts about this? And what kind of hops? How to get started?
Last year I made 19 5 gallon batches of beer and almost all of them had yeast setteling on the botton of my bottles. Now I know you can buy a filter system but I don't have the money for that. Is there anything I can do to remove as much yeast as possible just before botteling?
