I"m sooo glad i found this post! I just added 2 qt of pear juice to a dubbel belgian base recipe after primary...no activity yet but its in a very cool air conditioned area so ikm thinking its a slow starter(i hope) my final grav was good i hope it pics up..could it be stuck?just curious.
If youre that close.....your yeast will be fine...dont forget to order the cold pack!..if you're all that worried consider ordering a dry yeast like us-05 as a backup. Or make a starter..starters are always a good insurence policy.
As the others before me stated..you're on the right track...as long as you remove it from the heat, stir vigilatly and watch for boil over you're golden! Don't forget the most important thing....a few of your fave brews to sip on your first brew day! CHEERS! have fun!
