    Ball Valve Replacement Seats

Went to Lowes, grabbed a couple 1/2" brass valves (NPT, welded, pex) and took them to the tool department in an attempt to take the apart...no go, either I need months at the gym or those f-ers are darned near welded shut. Oh well, i guess for all my effort I can afford a new $15 fitting. Much...

    Question regarding Oxygentation/Bernzomatic Tank/Typical Homebrew O2 Regulator

So I took the brass regulator I picked up from my LHBS to the local Lowes and attempted to hook it up to a bernzomatic 1.4 oz tank of O2....but I couldnt get it to thread. Is there a trick to this? Do I need to apply teflon tape first? Do I need a larger tank? I've plumbed the whole...

    Ball Valve Replacement Seats

Great idea Chris, I'll give that a go. I can even bring the seat with me and disassemble at HD to compare. Thanks.

    Ball Valve Replacement Seats

As it's not from a blichmann valve, I havent called them. Their 3-piece valve has a different seat. Spike, I figured that was the case. I was hoping mcmaster would have them and I could just add them to another order, but that doesnt seem to be the case either. Thanks for the responses.

Johnson Temperature Probe as an immersion thermomiter

I had the same problem, just forgot about that issue as it's been a while. I never found a thermowell that would fit the johnson probe, so instead I got a replacement probe and rewired. I'll see if I can dig up the replacement part.

Johnson Temperature Probe as an immersion thermomiter

Are you asking about inserting the probe into your fermenting vessel in order to get an accurate reading of the wort temp? If so, you'll need a thermowell in a stopper which allows you to insert the probe into the beer without it actually getting wet...

    therminator + teflon tape

I've just incorporated a blichmann therminator into my setup and am immediately curious about the typical means of sanitation. From what I've read, one of the best and easiest ways is by sticking the plate chiller in an oven and baking it for a while. My question...will the teflon tape I've...

    Ball Valve Replacement Seats

Anyone know of a source for replacement teflon seats in the typical 1/2" NPT ball valves? I feel like i've searched all over but have yet to find a way to avoid throwing out the st. stl. ball valve I've lost a seat for. Hard to imagine a part costing no more than $.50 could put me out of a $20...

    New Beer Craft Book

Just picked up a copy. While I am by no means an advanced brewer, I wouldn't consider myself a beginner either. I'm a designer, so that initially drew me to the book, but I'd say the graphic nature of the layout goes well beyond aesthetic frivolity. It has an incredible wealth of information...

    Professional label software?

There are a huge host of options. From the Adobe suite of products, Photoshop included, to many freeware options, GIMP for instance. The problem is, the software itself doesn't impart any artistic advantage and beyond that the software often requires a considerable amount of time to master...

I want to build a keezer - How to do it with No woodworking skills?

The key to your troubles are butt joints and these guys... With enough sanding and a couple coats of paint you can fake skills pretty well. Good luck!

My First AG - a post mortem

I'm no expert, but I cant imagine no sugars got into your wort. Perhaps there is something wrong with your hydrometer? I'd take a test sample to your LHBS or a brew buddy's and get another reading.

    Six Point Flickr

These guys are right around the corner from me and make a great beer. When getting kegs from them you walk right into the brewhouse. Found this great gravity stand with some excellent innovations. Really like the lid holder...
