    As a default, im leaving it up to wayne1 to pick it up but i am going to make a concerted effort to be there myself - what better opportunity to meet you all? if it even smells like i wont make it ill transfer funds to wayne before the 1st and he has my cell. wayne, ill talk to you sometime...

    $.79 isnt worth the experience i just had, ill sure pick up fresh dry yeast if i can find one for cider that i like.

    i dont understand how it could be a sanitation issue, if so why didnt the other batch taste bad? dude, I couldn't get that taste out of my mouth for like 2 hours....

    so i poured apple juice from concentrate over the trub from the last batch of cider just as i had taken it out. The first batch was treetop juice with 2 lbs of brown sugar and cider yeast and tasted amazing, but this batch now 3 weeks and filtered tastes like peppered puke. What the heck?

    saving yeast

    i got some wlp001 and split it into 3 starters with some sugar/nutrient and energizer, used 2 for brews and put the third back into the vile. Good idea, or bad idea? should i decant the liquid off and put fresh water in to prevent fermentation in the frige?

    maybe make a dark tea out of the berries and add to either primary or secondary, you could sanitize with star san spray crush and add to secondary. as far as ingredients, maybe just make to style (crystal/munich maybe?)

    Backsweetening cider but maintaining enough yeast for carbonation?

    they have been in the refrigerator for about a week and i cant see any noticible yeast production, but yeah this stuff didnt last long, only 2 bottles left :)
