Picked my hops today and I think I may have waited too long. They still have a nice aroma and strong taste. Some of them are very sunbaked and brown. Most are almost pure white with green on the petals. Are they going to work? Do I not dry them as long?
IPA Recipe
7 lbs Rahr 2 row
1 lb Breiss Carapils
1 lb German Munich
1 lb Crisp Amber
Heat 3 Gallons of strike water to 170 degrees.Mash for 1 1/4 hours.
Sparge with 3 and a half gallons
Bring Mash to a boil and boil for one hour.

Finished my second batch of all grain (a very hoppy I.P.A.). 10 hours laters it started going crazy. At one point the beer shot out the airlock. I changed the airlock out and its back to normal. I had used dry yeast and yeast nutrient. Is there any explanation for this? Do i need a blow off hose?
