    My final og was 1.042 @ approx 70 deg. Fermentation is under way.

    Thanks, i used a hydrometer and did not calculate for temperature. So according to the other replies i seem to be ok.

    My first attemp at all grain, and according to the recepie my pre boil og is too low at 1.030. I was told it should be at 1.054. not sure what to do going forward.

    fermentation done... 40 days

    My fermentation took about 4 days to start, and kept steady for a few weeks. for the last 2 weeks i had bubbles in the lock about every 10 minutes. now about every hour or so, but nearly done im sure. Total time since pitching yeast has been 40 days - almost 6 weeks! Is this too long to...

    My first brew is the SAME. Can i ask a few questions? What temp was your wort when you pitched? What what your ambient temperature where you kept your brew for fermenting? How long before you primed and bottled? My brew to 48 hours to show signs of fermentation, how long did yours take...

    Bubbles every 1 minute now, so it must be happening. My son thinks I'm crazy, i cant stop checking on my beer. I just sit and watch. Wrapped it in a blanket last night... Now i think I'm crazy. I got to just let it go for a while and wait patiently. From what i have read here I should let...

    OK, i made my first batch this weekend. When i pitched the yeast the temperature of the wort was approx 60 deg. I set it in the basement where it was about 62 degrees. It has been 48 hours and only bubbling every 10 minutes now, and just really started bubbling since pitch. Not sure how long...

    First time

    Wanted to make my own beer for EVER. So this weekend i got a book, got on line, and bought all the necessary hardware to start this project, and finally did it! So wish me luck.
