With all the stories about introducing oxygen to the beer during secondary and risking off flavors/infections, can I just add my vanilla extract into primary after 2 weeks and let it sit another week before bottling?
for a 5 gallon batch I always cut 3 Madagascar Vanilla beans down the middle, scrape the guts and cut the bean into small pieces. I soak guts and all in 3 oz. of Vodka during primary then add it to secondary.

Hey guys and gals, got a quick question. I am getting ready to divide up a 5 gallon batch of vanilla porter and I would like to add cherries to one of the 2 1/2 gallon batches. What kind of cherries are recommended and how much cherry for the batch?
