I'm pretty new as well, just started this summer. I've made 4 batches so far, with the pumpkin being my first that didn't follow someone else's recipe word for word.

One more thing I thought of. After the boil I pretty much dumped everything into the fermenting bucket. I usually don't throw the extra sludge from the bottom of the pot in, but I thought this might give more time to absorb the pumpkin.

So, last month I made a batch of Pumpkin Porter. This was my first attempt at making my own creation. It's all done, and it tastes great but, I can't taste any pumpkin at all. This is what I know/did: I know an ale would be more subtle and would let the pumpkin stand out more, but there's so...
