I made the same mistake. It tasted fine afterwards, just stronger and darker than expected. In fact it was my best brew so far, although that's not saying much.
They're pretty much a slightly tart blueberry. So any blueberry beer recipe would probably work, just remember it'll be a tad bit more tart.
And most of them I see here (Saskatoon) are fairly small.
I just put my glass carboy into a slightly wider plastic bucket filled with cold water. Although I am not sure that will last for very long, is there any better way to lower temperature even a few degrees?

Crystal malts don't contain enzymes that convert starch to sugars so mashing won't work for them.
