SG is good, should I bottle?

I see. So check it again in a couple of days and if it hasn't changed, I can bottle?

SG is good, should I bottle?

Hi all, Apologies if this question has been answered. My Mangrove Jack's pear cider has been fermenting for 7 days now. I checked the SG today and it is exactly where it should be according to the instruction booklet (1.007). A lot of people here say you should leave it for 14 days. But...

    No more bubbles :(

Hey guys, sorry for another "did I ruin it" thread but I can't seem to find an answer to this one. My brew has been bubbling away nicely for about 48 hours, and suddenly it has pretty much stopped completely, maybe 1 bubble every few minutes. Is this anything to worry about? Cheers!

    Can't get the temp down

Thanks for that. I wrapped a wet towel around it and that dropped it by about 5 degrees in a matter of hours :)

    Can't get the temp down

Hi all, I started a batch of pear cider yesterday (decided to try something different). It's the middle of summer here at the moment, and the thermometer on the carboy read 30 degrees Celsius when I pitched the yeast which I think was a little hot? 24 hours later it's bubbling away nicely, but...

First batch getting worse over time?

Nah I followed the instructions on the back of the can exactly.. so the volume was correct My fermenter has a tap so didn't need to siphon

First batch getting worse over time?

I tried it again today.. It's really not very good... Not much flavour, bitter, watery, with a pretty bad bitter aftertaste. I drank 750ml reasonably quickly and didn't feel anything in terms of an "alcohol buzz". So I'm guessing it's very low ABV for some reason. Is it worth keeping?

First batch getting worse over time?

Yeah I did ferment it closer to ale temp, around 70F Was a 27 liter fermenter

First batch getting worse over time?

It's not specifically a low ABV beer though. From my understanding it should be sitting somewhere between 4-5%

First batch getting worse over time?

Hey all, I bottled my first batch of home brew (extract kit, Coopers European lager) about 6 weeks ago. A couple of weeks after bottling I sampled it, and it was tasting good. Nice full flavour. However I sampled it again today and it seems to be getting worse. It's well carbonated, crisp...

    Sediment at bottom of fermenter

Thanks all :-D feeling good about it now! Can't wait to try it

    Sediment at bottom of fermenter

Good to hear. The beer did look quite clear compared to my last brew. But I assume there will be enough yeast in the bottles for proper carbonation? Thanks again

    Sediment at bottom of fermenter

Right, so I just finished bottling batch #2 (Indian Pale Ale). Batch #1 has been bottled for a month and is starting to taste really good :D All seems to have gone well with batch #2 - I left it for 3 week before bottling. However I noticed a lot of sediment at the bottom of the fermenter...
