Brew Day #1 - IN THE BOOKS!

Bubbling away nicely in the fermenter. I need to get a sticker thermometer for the side of the bucket. I don't think this probe is giving accurate readings that low... My AC unit in my apartment is set to 68 and it hasn't been running for a while. The Yeast is Munton's dry Brewer's yeast.

Brew Day #1 - IN THE BOOKS!

Hey everyone! I just finished up with my very first brew day and figured I'd talk about it here and show pictures. I do have some questions/concerns that didn't arise until I was in the act of doing something... so here goes. This is an extract kit that I purchased from Midwest Supplies...

    Starter Kit purchasers beware!

Best price I could find around for what I'd call an 'all inclusive' kit. Literally comes with every single thing you need to brew your first batch, and then you've got a week or so to get ahold of 60 bottles. I planned mine ahead and started saving bottles early so this was no problem. The...

    Starter Kit purchasers beware!

I don't know from experience yet but I'd much rather be safe than sorry, I'd REALLY hate to pour out 5 gallons of beer...

    Starter Kit purchasers beware!

Hey guys, I just wanted to put this out here as a friendly warning to anyone looking to purchase a starter kit. A lot of starter kits out there are missing what I understand to be a very important item.... sanitizer! I ordered the Platinum Pro Starter Kit from Midwest Supplies and looking...

    Brew Kettle Deals

After my wife and I split last summer... I was left with a lot of debt that I didn't realize we had collected. I'm using brewing as a way to save money and just for fun. So, I don't mind getting quality equipment, as long as it's justified by it's expansion ability in the future. I've learned...

    Brew Kettle Deals

I haven't looked much into BIAB. I've currently been reading 'How to Brew' By John Palmer. Just trying to get a good idea of exactly what I'm getting myself into. I've done some reading on the /r/homebrewing and some reading on here. I'm really looking for a cheap route to get started the right...
