I also have had one out of 15 bottles shoot up like a rocket. However they were all reused bottles. Still plan on doing for my next batch. Really liked the carb style.
Funny you asked this. I was thinking the same thing.
Even if it slows down bottle carbing a bit it might make it easier to pasteurize when the carb is right and not create bombs.
