What Is The One Aspect of Brewing That Is Least Important to Brewing a Good Beer? (In Your Opinion)

When we pour the sparge water it always got colder than before - so it will be needed to heat it up again... And there is a lot of water absorption in the grains that will stay with your pre-heated water... No heating the sparge water reduces the loss - my grains end up colder than before, so I...

Yeast: s-33 and t-58 - what shall I do with them?

If I started to do a really German Weiss type I´ll stick to the T-58 (it produces very esterified cloves and banana flavours :ban:) - but to more neutral belgian that I will add some coriander seeds, I will use the s-33. And a curiosity - I made a batch at 80 degrees celsius with little amount...

What Is The One Aspect of Brewing That Is Least Important to Brewing a Good Beer? (In Your Opinion)

Here in Brasil almost all shops ground malts for irrisory ou null prices... I do not use a pH meter because it is dispensable in my batch sizes... I use a black charcoal filter only to hold the chlorine of the tap water and some sort of impurities (and use 4 drops of Vitamin C to kill the rest...

Initial Original Gravity is too high and I added yeast. What should I do?

To keep it sweet either you rise the mash temp to about 80ºC (to denaturet the enzymes and keep the sugars long) or you can use maltodextrin that is not palatable to some yeasts and will remain as residual sweetness. If you use simple sugar or honey, they will be eaten by the yeast. I made a...

adding additional yeast during primary fermentation

You can use a REDSTAR Cuvvé to continue the stuck fermentation - it supports until 18%ABV. I use it with good results. I said this in another post about a stuck 1130-1050 (10.5%ABV) stuck fermentation.

Which Ale yeast will eat the big sugars?

(1.130-1.050)*.131=10,48%ABV - it is in the limit of the yeast. You have to use concomitantly another yeast, like REDSTAR Cuvée that supports unitl 18%ABV. Use it when the fermentation stucks to continue it.

Which Ale yeast will eat the big sugars?

Stuck in 1050 coming from 1130 - isn´t stuck because high alcohol content? These Safale yeasts support maximun of 11%ABV

Which Ale yeast will eat the big sugars?

What was the temperature of the mashing process? High temperatures lead to long sugars because of denaturation of the enzymes. I made a 80ºC mash to obtain a high FG - suicidal temp - to make a 0.5ABV beer experience. If you want to dry your beer, you have to mash it at 65ºC to shorten the...

Single Vessel Automática 52 litros Guten

Onde você mora? O mosto somente ferve a 100 graus no nivel do mar.

Gin leva zimbro. Dai vc tira a prova e sente os gostos.

    Densímetro X Refratômetro...CUIDADO!

Eu uso o refratometro e a calculadora da Lamas Brew Tool. Sempre dá certa a medida. Sem correção não pode usar!

    Vazamentos cilindro/regulador CO2
