Three years ago I decided to start a frozen yeast bank with 5 Wyeast strains.
Now, three years later I can report this has worked extremely well without a problem in fact and I've added a couple more.
I'm keen to get hold of a few more strains, if anyone else is into freezing brewing yeast...

Don't be scared to mash overnight at around 65 C.
You want dry ? this is a good way to get it.
Mash in at 11 pm. Go to bed. Sparge 7am.
No one can tell you the projected final gravity of a beer unless they know all details.

You might consider phoning your local University Glass Lab ? I did this a couple of years ago and they had numerous Erlenmyer flasks which were surplus to their requirements and going cheap.
