For Sale Portland, OR: Almost-Complete All-Grain Kit

First off, sorry for the bad photos - I wheeled everything into the yard to photograph before the rain hit, then the rain started to come down before I could start photographing and I had to rush it all back into the garage. Now that that’s out of the way - I am selling my complete home brewing...

    Worst Craft Beer Of ALL-TIME!

This beer seems to have a unique cache as the one that absolutely demolishes college kids. I think they even marketed off of this a while back - "everyone has a Golden Monkey story." Also, the worst craft beer was Rogue/Voodoo Maple Bacon Ale, referred to on BA as "The Pink Death."

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

I can't find my notes right now but if memory serves, 1.050 to 1.011. Very very mild, low ABV ale - but it held at 1.011 for a week before bottling.

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Update on the above: kept it at 66-68F and hit FG in 5 days. Unstoppable.

Voss Kveik yeast is a monster

Ah, I was just popping in to ask a question about Voss! I'm fermenting a pretty simple pale ale right now - 10lb Chevallier Heritge, 2oz Willamette hops. On Sunday afternoon, I pitched one packet of Imperial A43 into the wort at 80 and then let it ride. Normally I ferment in my garage, which...

Six Months Between Brews, Need a Refresher.

Ah, yeah, fermentation is the one part I know I'm solid on so I left the details out, haha! I'm also using Kveik so temperature is less important, but my garage stays in the 58-65 range almost year round and my porter came out great with an occasional ice pack under the bucket. Also jeez I...

Six Months Between Brews, Need a Refresher.

Hello Everyone! So, I did my first brew day about six months ago before getting back surgery and have immediately forgotten how to do everything due to being out of practice. My first beer came out wonderfully, so I'm trying to stay as close to doing what worked as possible. That being the...

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

Imperial says to try A43 Loki at lower temperatures for a maltier pale ale, so that's what I'll be doing! Probably going to try this not this coming weekend but the one after. Cheers!

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

Cool - I ferment in my garage, which has been holding steady between 50-60 this winter, so hothead may not be a good choice since it seems to like 72-98 according to Omega's site. Imperial is just up the road, I'll ask them what they recommend. :) Thanks for the info on the different kveik...

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

I've been thinking about going with Imperial A43 Loki as I really like their yeasts. Kentucky common sounds interesting, too!

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

That's PERFECT. I'll probably use a different yeast, too, but that's damn close to what I was thinking anyway. Thank you!

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

Oh, I like that! Chevalier seems to be compared to Maris Otter in a number of posts (based on 15-ish min of research) but a bit... warmer and more complex, perhaps? And I love Maris Otter. So like, an English Pale Ale with Chevalier Malt and Cluster Hops. Maybe not Kviek since that might get a...

    What Ingredients Would YOU Use?

Hello! So here's my current gimmick. My band is about to release our second album, "Primordial." I'd like to brew a batch of beer for us to celebrate, which I have decided I will call "Primordiale." "Primordial" means "existing at the beginning of time." The gimmick I'd like to use in...

    Homemade PBW Recipe

I'm sorry, am I reading this correctly? I just mix 6lbs of Oxy Clean free, 4lbs Sodium Metasilicate (Red Devil TSP/90), and 2.8lbs (45oz) 7th Generation powdered dishwasher detergent, and I have 12.8lbs of what is functionally PBW for a fraction of the cost? You guys are insane. I love this...
