Estimating the amount of water in my pot?

So 6" is 1 gallon? I'd just use the rod to measure how deep the liquid is, then measure that. Every 6 inches is another gallon. Should be enough to estimate most quantities.

    Two 5 Gallon Pots

I also just split a 5gal batch between two 5 gal kettles and I find it works out very well.

    A matter of placement

First off; I'm really not that concerned about this, I figured I'd just see if there was a general consensus out there. I'm actually kinda just bored at work and thinking about beer. I have two places that I can use to plant my first rhizomes. both of them get a pretty good amount of light...

    Midwest Supplies

I live about equal distance between there and NothernBrewer and I find that Midwest is slightly less expensive but I have the feeling that NB rotates through their grain a little more quickly. That might all be in my head though. Both stores are excellent IMHO and I think I'm pretty lucky to...

    How to maximize craigslist

Ok, so most all the RSS extensions I found just checked my google reader, which includes much more than just that specific RSS feed that I wanted to be notified of. One I did find that I like is called RSS Live Links (https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/hcamnijgggppihioleoenjmlnakejdph)...

    How to maximize craigslist

Hmm...I use the gmail checker extension...I wonder if there's an RSS extension that behaved the same way. Then I wouldn't even have to have my reader open.

    How to maximize craigslist

That's mainly what's going on here, just without Thunderbird, and it's combining all the RSS feeds into one master feed. I also wanted something that I could check from anywhere. I'm on several computers at work each day and then at home I'm either on my desktop or my laptop or my wife's laptop...

    How to maximize craigslist

I missed a 5gal corny keg this morning by like 10 minutes so I decided to find a way to search craigslist better. Here are 6 steps to automate your Craigslist Searches (or any search that provides a RSS feed for that matter). I tried to take a screenshot at each step so this will get pretty...

Which Beer Took Your "BMC Virginity"

Probably a Summit EPA as I'm from MN and used to live near the brewery.

Other plants in the same planter

So I'm curious if there's any reason not to plant other plants in the same planter with some rhizomes. This will be my first year growing and I thinking of throwing some pumpkins or some peppers in the same planter. I'm assuming since the hops are growing vertically that they won't care much...

    Samual Adams Noble Pils?

I didn't care for it at all, not really my style though. I got to try it at an outdoor beer tasting event last month...in MN.

    Those 5 gallon water jugs

I'm surprised the bottles would be #7. I mean, they're actually sold to hold liquid that you are expected to consume. How is it safe for drinking water, but not beer.

Why not just add all sparge water if the cooler is big enough?

I've been using a copper manifold that is soldered into a circle with very small slits cut into it.
