    Pumpkin Cider from Aldi's

I'll need to tweak it. I'm looking to do a non-alcoholic batch. I got a case of the cider today at aldi's. I'll post the recipe once we get something going.

    Pumpkin Cider from Aldi's

Hey guys, I just had a great pumpkin cider from Aldi's. It is NA and comes in a flip top bottle (looks great for reuse). Anyway, does anyone have a sparkling NA pumpkin cider recipe? I have a press we use to make apple cider. I figured I'd roast some fresh pumpkin, and press it out...

    partial bottle

I've tried to bottle from the keg...everything turns out flat. I found the directions and built the counter pressure gun, but it usually just makes a mess and my bottles are flat. I'm probably not doing something right, but since I don't bottle a lot, I didn't want to invest in the better...

    partial bottle

Back on NYE, I made the King's Nutz Maple nut brown. After a month in primary, I'm ready for it to move on. I'm planning on bottling a 12 pack to age. So far, I've only kegged. I have an idea how to bottle, but I have no idea how much priming sugar I should use. I've kegged in the past...

British Brown Ale The Kings Nutz Imperial Nut Brown Ale

I brewed this on New Years Eve. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope it turns out well. I am concerned though...my smack pack didn't inflate well, and being NYE, I forgot to make a starter. So, 2 days later, I'm still not bubbling. I also made a slight mistake and added the maple...

Autumn Seasonal Beer Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (AG and Extract versions)

I brewed the extract version of Thunderstruck about 3 weeks ago. I didn't use a full starter, but had quick action. It sat in the primary for about 3 weeks, then kegged and force carbed it. I have thunderstruck, Requiem Raspberry and a Honey Wheat on tap right now. Thunderstruck is still...

    Fruit Beer Requiem Raspberry

Life has recently gotten in the way of my pipeline. I now have 2 buckets fermenting - a centennial and a Requiem Raspberry. My Centennial will be kegged this week. I'm scheduled to put the raspberries in on Thursday of this week, which is 7 days after brewing. So, here's my dilemmas. 1...

    Obama is a homebrewer

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/09/16/earlyshow/main20107292.shtml another link of the white house and their homebrewing. Also, many may remember the Obama/Gates/Crowley meeting from 2009 when Obama had a Bud Light. http://abcnews.go.com/Business/Politics/story?id=8204574...

    Homebrew Stores in Cleveland/Youngstown/Pittsburgh?

So, not to hijack the thread off topic, but there is a hot air balloon festival in Akron/Ravenna this weekend. There is a big parade on Saturday Morning, and then that evening a balloon launch (weather permitting). I've made the trip with my family twice to see it. My daughter had a great...

What to spend gift card on?

I would pass on the digital scale at least for now, until you are ready to experiment from something other than a kit. I'd get an auto siphon. I use a graduated cylinder for my hydrometer readings rather than putting it right into my wort. You can pick up tygon lines at Home Depot that...

    Fall Beer

I'm curious as to why people switch styles with the seasons. I have never been exposed to stouts/porters (except guinness) and don't like the idea of brewing up a 5 gallon batch of something I don't like. My husband is a big fan of the wits and centennial blonde (and doesn't want to drink...

Grain Mill for Kitchen Aid Mixer

Grain Mill for Kitchen Aid Mixer

Has anyone used a meat grinder as a grain mill for a kitchen aid mixer? Amazon shows a grain mill also. It looks to be a corona style and has some really bad reviews. Granted, these people were grounding for flour, which would be significantly finer than for brewing.

    Keezer Build starting this week

Perlicks are great, but at $50 a pop for just the spout, they are an upgrade. I was concerned about mine sticking since my keezer is on my porch, but I haven't had any problems at all. My only problems are the bees that the beer/pop attracts. I use the black faucet covers to keep the bugs...

    Pumpkin ale fail

Update - the stove cleaned up perfectly. My kitchen is no longer carmalized malt! :) But reading more threads - I guess I shoudl have cooked the pumpkin??! I hope this dosn't cause a problem...I just dumped it in right from the can.
