How to boost points after missing Og? Simply add sugars?

''no base malt''? I don't get what this is and why is it needed for rice flakes to have it's sugars extracted ;o I get what you mean for the other types of sugars though, man I should use those calculators more often :l THanks for your reply btw :)

How to boost points after missing Og? Simply add sugars?

I guess you're right :) In fact, I don't even like getting drunk, only like beer for it's taste and satisfying quench (& cause I hate soft drinks), so I guess Abv doesn't matter that much; thanks for making me realize this, guess there's always much to learn from the wise older brewers haha ;P...

How to boost points after missing Og? Simply add sugars?

Really? :) maybe I'm overcautious about with my beer :/ I'm just scared about the flaked rice I missed in the recipe as I replied to McKnuckle Either way, thanks for reassuring me on that one :mug: Just to put an images on words

How to boost points after missing Og? Simply add sugars?

Could it have really dropped from 1.047 to 1.015 in 2 days ;oo ?? I though it took over a week for it to process before getting such drastic difference readings between og and fg I'm scared my wort my not have enough sugar cause it didn't get no sugar (or barely any) from my flaked rice (which...

How to boost points after missing Og? Simply add sugars?

So I just realised that I totally missed my og like an idiot : First off.. Og was supposed to be 1.047 and Fg is supposed to be 1.011 (5.5gal recipe for corona clone) After brewing my beer and all, I let it ferment 2 days (where yeast was going wild) before realizing that it first stopped...

Jelly/Gelatin-like substance in bottom of wort (picture)

But is the batch ruined by this reaction!? Why did it do that? Can I still use this beer? Should I proceed as normal and throw yeast and in primary? Will the yeast work trough the jelly? Will having a small amount of wort bottom junk mess up the beer during fermentation if any get mixed with...

Jelly/Gelatin-like substance in bottom of wort (picture)

I guess I though steeping and mashing were synonyms then :oo!! I did read that rice had to stay a bit longer at a higher temperature, so I let it in while getting my wort to a boil (added already boiling water to speed up the temperature rise), but my question here is : is my batch ruined by the...

Jelly/Gelatin-like substance in bottom of wort (picture)

Long story short : There's this weird gelatin/jelly-like substance in the bottom of my wort (after boil) when transferring to secondary (to remove the bottom junk and to pitch yeast with fresh water) before putting in primary and yeah I found all these long rope-like strains of jelly Was...

    Priming with maple syrup?

Always add more when using liquids (1.25x) over using solids (powder), since liquids, such as honey or maple syrup or lme all have water in them in order for them to be so called liquids. As Trox called out, using calculator is preferable for better precision on quantities as most (depending on...

Steps To Brewing A Better Small Batch IPA?

You could try making flavored beers, making your own concentrates! And when I mean concentrates, I don't mean just fruits, but also different kinds of nuts which can be a combine of fabulous flavors! (Almond, helznuts and macadamian sounds delightful as nice after taste) Theres an infinite...

    Stop carbonatation?

Ok great, so when carbonation feels right, I can simply put my beer in the fridge and they'll stop carbonating and go to bed while in the fridge, leaving the current amount of Co2 in the beer, right? Just wanna make sure I got it right haha Thanks for the anwser :)

Newbie Q - Adding fruits to AG batch

Beer has it's strong flavor (hops and all). Personally, if I were to use fruits to add that fruity flavor, I'd add some in a few process's to gain maximum flavor, since, again, beer is strong handed over fruit.. I'd mash some in a pot with a bit of water to get as most fruit juice as possible...
