John Blichmann was kind enough to respond to me in an email. The issue is my mill setting, the crush is too fine and when the pump starts it quickly leads to a stuck mash. Cheers for all your replies.

Any Tower Of Power users out there? I keep having issues with the pump recirculating the wort during mashing. I up'ed my liquor to grist ratio from 1.25 qt/lb to 1.5 qt/lb and that hasn't seemed to help. Mash tun is Blichmann with false bottom. Anyone else experience issues with recirculation...
