I just bottled my first batch of holiday cider. We started the first week of October and just got around to bottling it today. We used a wine yeast so we had to back sweeten it and add nutmeg and cinnamon. It tasted great and I just want to say thanks for all the great info...

I know it a old post but I've had the same problem! I have a small indent in the top of the bucket that lets out air threw the lid. I hate buckets! I also used saflager s-23 Its been 20 hours and its going to town at room temp. Its time to move it to my cool closet 61 F

Well no worries its gone we drank it! Every thing was fine tasted great! On a side note My beer is getting better as it ages! I'm ready to start my next batch

How much DME & hops for a 1 gallon batch. I'm on the move to make some test batches!

thanks for all the info. So far the 40 is still alive its been 5 days. I'm getting alittle scared so I moved it out in the garage and put it in a bucket just in case. TX Nick pour one for my homeys

The local brew store has them for $10 ---5 liter---mini keg. It would be a nice way to store and drink my beer. Just wondering the ups and downs.

I searched mini keg and nothing! Just wondering how they work. I don't drink enough for a full size keg. Any info would be helpful. thanks Nick

Just wondering how they work with a light beer! I just bottled one we'll see how it does. It was a BL 40 oz. Buy the way I just bottled my first batch of American light! So far everything is going great thanks for all the info! I left about 4" from the cap.

Had my first SNPA today! Not bad. I'm finding out I'm a real beer sissy! I also tried Shiner (Kolsch) I didn't really like it. As for pop tops I'm looking for a beer I like so I can save the bottles. So far St Pauli Girl, SNPA, Greatlakes Pale Ale are the only ones I like. Tied Sam Adams...
