Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I gave this a go on a brand new setup following the instructions: https://github.com/thorrak/brewpi-esp8266/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md Using the V0.5 esp8266 firmware. I still couldn't get the Device list to save until I reset controller to factory defaults. Even then I think...

    How To: BrewPi Over Bluetooth

I was banging my head against the wall with no responses from my HC-05 while trying to set it in the AT mode with Arduino Serial Monitor. My module was in slow blink mode. I just wasn't getting any response. Google turned up this: One IMPORTANT thing, Newline feed (\n) and Carriage...

    Harbor Freight 70 Lb Scales

I have no problem with the autopower off. I realize that I could have done the empty bucket trick. But I shouldn't have to jump through all those hoops for a scale being sold off the shelf for $39.99. The deal breaker for me was the lack of decimal pound units.

    Harbor Freight 70 Lb Scales

At work I use a refco and a JB ds-2000 charging scales. I really like the JB, but our local supply house wants ~$160 for it. I guess they are worth it with the 220 lb max capacity, but it out of my price range right now.

    Harbor Freight 70 Lb Scales

I got frustrated with dealing with the 7 pound capacity of my scale, so I decided to stop by our favorite Chinese importer. The only scale there with a capacity better than I already had was: 70 Lb/32 Kg Digital Postal Scale Cen-Tech - Item#95069 After the coupon I had it rang up as $30...

    12/12/12

Yeah. Took significantly longer than it should have. I snuck a 45 minute nap during the second half of the boil, finally got to bed around 6am. Work called around 8 and said I didn't need to be there until lunch, thank goodness. Hit target gravity, and at 9am when I checked it was bubbling...

    12/12/12

I was far less sensible. I didn't take off work and mashed in at 11:59 pm on 12/12/12. American Barleywine target 1.120 sg. Work is gonna hurt tomorrow. Ugh. 90 minute mash, and 120 min boil. WHAT HAVE I STARTED?

Can't get enough lager dry yeast.

Stopped by my LHBS and they only had two packs of s-23 lager dry yeast. I'm planning on brewing an Eisbock tomorrow afternoon, 10 gallon batch. Was basing it on the recipe in Brewing Classic Styles with an estimated og of 1.090 (erroneosly first said 1.077). I recommends 27 grams of dry yeast...

    Super Simple 15G Plastic Conical

I have to add that I have been horrified at the residues I see everytime I disassemble one of the pipe threaded connections on my brew rig. Maybe it isn't as big of issue as one would think. Edit: The biggest hang up for me right now is the threaded connection on the bottom. I am eager to hear...
